JRC Favorite Things
After a season of ignoring my favorite things, my counselor encouraged and asked me to greatly consider doing my favorite things.
Fun things. Crazy things. My own things. Interesting things.
My mentor coach, in another way of encouraging growth, told me to stop hesitating and just jump out there and do the things!
Stop overthinking, doubting, wondering, worrying, ignoring and stuffing what I might want, like, or do.
Stop second-guessing myself, letting other people voices be so loud in my head and trust my decision making processes.
In other words, start identifying the favorite things and do them!
I am identifying areas in life where I can engage in new experiences without pressuring myself to be perfect in exploring them.

I started enjoying succulents. I’m not a plant person. They all seem to die. But succulents? You almost can’t kill them! Plus, they have babies. Lots of babies. And grow, change colors, produce interesting flowers and just look adorable sitting in a pot or flower bed. I started creating flower beds by just having fun putting plants in dirt and watching them grow.
I started reading again. Lots and lots of reading in great genres… so many favorite things to learn and read about!
I decided that I needed to fully obey God in one area that he’d been asking of me for a long time. Stopping all the things. Just stop. {and yes, that helped me to have capacity and brain space to live life!}
I had to allow myself the courage to just stop.
I took classes and certifications for what I was going through and then, for coaching training in life coaching and neurodiverse coaching.
Then, in early 2024, I started Jenilee Rachel Coaching! I created an LLC, jumped fully in to building a business of coaching.
I’m now using all of my how-to, help, life hacks and enneagram 6 talents to help people and I love it!
The years of writing and discipleship and homeschooling and parenting and full-time ministry and living overseas and navigating neurodiversity in our family all blended together to create a unique coaching space for women like me.
My “you just make me want to tell you things!” face {a quote from a friend} really does want to hear the things and hold the stories.
So, I’ve built a list for you!
A list of my favorite new things.
1} Find and build your healing team. Get a coach, counselor, physical therapist, local wellness center, gym, or friend group with a growth, healing mindset. I would love to be a part of your healing team through coaching. And just so you know, a coach can help you build this healing team if even that seems a bit daunting.
2} Resources. I’ve always loved resourcing and networking to help people navigate challenges. Google is your friend. Find what you are looking for, advocate for yourself, make things happen. You are not stuck!
3} Social Media. Yes, it can be bad. It can steal time from your day in a heartbeat. But, it also can be such a wonderful addition to growth, healing, living and even making some extra money to help with the favorite things! I have a course to help you navigate all the changing landscapes of social media, marketing, branding, and just keeping up with app updates and platform changes.
I love social media, networking and connecting. I pulled away from it all for a season and now, I’m jumping back in which has been a favorite thing and a huge blessing!
FYI – This course can also help if you own a business, need or want to build online engagement, are in a process of fundraising or needing to get information out to your people. This is the course for you. I’d love to walk you through the content, if needed!
4} Health. I’ve started working with a local wellness center with supplements, therapies, and functional medicine. I’m loving the results. These things, combined with my healing team, have been a life-saver in the past 6 months.
FYI – As part of this health journey, I’ve been on the hunt for good, clean, affordable, healthy supplements that I can order online and have delivered at home. I found Modere. Ask me if you have questions about where to start and what to try first! For me, I love the liquid collagen. Hands down the best and fastest results are with liquid, type 2 collagen. Then, the trebiotic for gut health, the 5 Day Drop for resetting your weight goals, and the toothpaste, deodorant, face cleanser, surface cleaner… ok, so many good, clean things to order without all the yucky chemicals.
5} Myself. I had to let myself, give myself permission, trust my gut, go with my heart, listen to the Holy Spirit speak, obey and simply allow myself to be myself, fulfill my calling, answer for myself and live out God’s call on my life in the way that He was directing me to live! Over and over in scripture, this wording is there. Let your heart, let yourself… look it up and spend some time with Jesus in those scriptures.
This process gives me space and capacity to love, serve, work and life well!
6} Odd this and that things. I worked part time at a wellness center this year. I learned about foot detox and red light and castor oil packs. I substitute taught at a small Christian school and laughed with middle school students all day. I created a facebook group that’s just for JRC favorite things… it’s public and open to join if you’re curious! Odd this and that things that just make me happy and bring healing, get joy moments.
7} Opening an online store. Yep. I did that too. I have content that is already created and just sitting in a file. No one could get it! So, I opened a store. Check it out! More content is coming soon. I also share some of my favorite amazon products in this linktree store. Shop my favorite health and journaling things!
FYI – my store link also has a free download when you sign up for my JRC newsletter!
8} Being self-employed. That’s a scary one. Transitioning back to the states, starting something new, trying to earn an income and grow a business. Every time you click on a link, share a post, buy something through an amazon link, refer someone for coaching or share my store, you’re helping with this growth!
For me, I add the journey of JRC to my fun things because it’s been a long-time dream and I’m finally letting myself, taking courage, and doing it.
9} Living back in my up north snow bubble. I seriously love Michigan. It is a favorite thing in every way. I’m so thankful for this sweet place of safety to heal, learn, grow, and recover.
10} Letting go. This has been really challenging but I’ve learned so much about really letting go, allowing myself to let go, and resting in the letting go. Let go. The healing journey is hard and most won’t understand. Go for it anyway. Let go and move forward in health.
I hope you find some encouragement here to find your own favorite things!
