Coaching Intensive

There are times when you need an intensive session. Something with all the time for all the words and a compassionate someone to listen.

You need a coach in the moment, to dive into the story with you.

You know it’s going to take time to pour it all out.

Once it starts, your story needs a safe place to land.

What if your story had more space to breathe?

Sometimes, there is an inner voice tangle—parts of us that carry fear, shame, self-protection, or deep longing.

This tangle causes stress, confusion, turmoil, and often, a feeling of being stuck, not knowing what to do with all the voices inside.

Coaching is a great place to work out the tangle of emotions, voices, situations, childhood experiences, current relationships, and all the anxiety, shame, grief, and crazy it all brings.

That’s where Internal Family Systems (IFS) work comes in. It’s a gentle, powerful way to understand your inner world with compassion—like meeting the younger parts of yourself or discovering the confused or worried parts of you and learning what they need now.

It’s not about fixing. It’s about listening.

I use a blend of story mapping, white board brain dumping, and IFS resources to help with the crazy.

It tends to work itself out pretty quickly once it’s untangled and you can see it all in front of you.

The road to healing is still a long process of internal work, but it can be sped up a bit with an intensive or two!

If this kind of soul work is calling to you, an intensive might be a perfect place to start.

What is a Coaching Intensive?

3-Hour Introductory Intensive Session

It’s a focused 1-1 coaching session for story work, timeline reflection, and an introduction to Internal Family Systems (IFS). Perfect if you want to start your healing journey with clarity and compassion.

Sometimes, that’s all you need.

But, if your story needs more time to breathe and untangle, you can add another intensive.

Spread the story out over 2–3 sessions, this option lets you explore your inner parts more deeply, uncovering insights and working through healing at a comfortable pace. Ideal for those wanting a fuller experience of IFS.

Breaks built in, of course.

What is IFS?

Internal Family Systems (IFS) can be especially helpful if you’ve ever felt:

  • Like you have conflicting thoughts or emotions—part of you wants to move forward, and part of you feels stuck.
  • Deep frustration with yourself—like you keep repeating the same patterns, even when you “know better.”
  • Overwhelmed by emotions that don’t always make sense or feel out of proportion.
  • Disconnected from your younger self, your story, or parts of your past that still carry weight.
  • Like you’re masking, over-functioning, or shape-shifting to stay safe in relationships.
  • Curious about what’s really going on beneath the surface when you get triggered or shut down.
  • Faith and spiritual things have complicated things like family, boundaries, saying no, and finding healing.

IFS offers a gentle way to listen to what’s happening inside—and begin building trust, compassion, and clarity with all the parts of you.

If any of that resonates, I’d be honored to walk with you through it.

A few more questions…

Does this have to be in person?

Not at all. While in-person intensives offer a uniquely focused and connected experience, these coaching sessions can absolutely be done over Zoom. Virtual sessions are just as powerful and allow you to engage in the work from the comfort of your own space. Whether we meet in person or online, the heart of the work remains the same—supportive, personal, and deeply meaningful.

Can I do this work without the intensive?

This kind of work can absolutely be done in regular 1:1 coaching sessions—but to experience the real benefit, it takes intention: weekly sessions for a short season, reflection between calls, and a willingness to explore explore your story with curiosity and care over a longer period of time.

Why consider in-person sessions?

In-person coaching allows for a deeper sense of presence and connection. Being together in the same space often creates a safe, grounded environment that helps you feel more supported as you do meaningful work. We can use physical tools like whiteboards or post-it notes for mapping your story and visualizing your inner world, which many clients find helpful and clarifying. Plus, stepping away from your usual environment—even for a few hours—can offer powerful perspective and space to process in a fresh, focused way.

Can this kind of work be done in coaching?

Yes—with some important boundaries. Coaching is a powerful space for growth, clarity, and healing around your story, patterns, and personal goals. Internal Family Systems (IFS) can be a meaningful part of that process. While counseling often focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, coaching creates space for growth, insight, and movement forward.

However, if you’re working through deep trauma, active crisis, or unprocessed pain that requires clinical support, I recommend connecting with a licensed counselor or therapist. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, but it can be a beautiful complement to therapy—or a helpful next step when you’re ready to move forward with insight and support.

Can this work for groups?

Internal Family Systems is a powerful tool for groups seeking deeper connection and healing. It could be helpful for…

  • Church leaderships and staff navigating stress, ministry demands, and burnout
  • Women’s groups longing for deeper connection and support
  • Moms’ groups balancing all the roles and responsibilities of daily life. These tools are really wonderful in parenting as well!
  • Retreats seeking both spiritual and emotional renewal
  • Book clubs ready to go beyond the pages into personal insight
  • Close-knit circles of friends wanting to explore their inner worlds together
  • Missionaries or global workers overseas – I really do travel!

IFS offers a safe, supportive space to listen, learn, and grow—together.

If your group is ready to dive deeper and support each other with compassion, this work might be just what you need.

Group schedule and pricing available upon request. Includes a group session and individual sessions.

What about a faith intensive and/or neurodiversity?

For clients coming from a faith perspective, I use Altogether You by Jenna Riemersma—a meaningful resource that weaves IFS and spiritual integration. Some of my faith story here…. I also love Boundaries for Your Soul by Alison Cook.

For a non-faith-based approach, No Bad Parts by Dr. Richard Schwartz offers a compassionate, clear introduction to Internal Family Systems work. He developed it, after all.

You’ll definitely want to read the books… but if not, I’ll give an intro to IFS in session.

This framework can be especially helpful in neurodiversity work—giving language to your inner world and helping you understand how your unique wiring shapes your thoughts, emotions, and responses.
